Mr Chips

We had our wedding on Friday 19th September and we had the most outstanding meal for over 40 people. Our venue was 20 minutes away and the food was piping hot. All our guests said how amazing it was and couldn’t believe the price. We designed our own boxes and they were happy to put the food in them. Thank you for making our sit down meal perfect for us and all our guests. Even though we live in Sutton we know where we will be coming for our fish Fridays

Hi and thank you for reading my review. The food: Mr chips has a general variety of chip shop foods, ranging chips to battered sausage to fish. The chips a lot hot, soft, fluffy with a crunch everything you dig in. The sausage doesn't taste oily or cheap quality and the fish is thick and wide, very worth the price! The staff: Very delightful and amazing, making sure that everyone follows the social distancing rules and making sure that everyone needs are catered for. The building: The building is rather small however it's a fish and chips building, doesn't need to be big or spacious. It can fit an average of 5 in the building however due to Corona virus it has been limited to two people at a time. Overall, I always go here for my chips and I've never had a complaint for their food. would defiantly go again!

Mr chips has been in Coulsdon for over 30 years. Same family owners. Great community spirit & local staff. All food prepared and served fresh daily. Holding prices & portion sizes through Hard times of inflation etc… Award winning , one of the best and original chip shops around.

we had a big order for a event in the evening on the 19th September food was delivered and turned up hot and in very good condition everyone has said how nice the food was. thank you so much

Rising cod prices had put me off fish and chips but I had a craving and they've been making a real effort to steer customers to the cheaper hake, including visibly lowering the price on the menu and putting signs up around the shop. I finally noticed a new sign on the door at handle-height and went for hake and chips. This lead to a chat about how he doesn't like charging customers more, but customers just order cod out of habit. I'm guilty. He gave me a rundown on how different fish taste, while I waited for the hake to fry. I like my fish a little crispier and he obliged. The best fish and chips in/around Coulsdon in my opinion. And a business owner steering customers. towards cheaper, more sustainable options? We don't see enough of this. And I'm a hake convert now. Cheaper and a slightly more enjoyable flavour in my opinion.

This is our regular chippy, we eat there nearly every Friday night, kids love it too. Our fish & Scampi is always cooked to order so it’s piping hot, & it’s delicious, portions are plenty big enough for us! Girls on the counter are friendly…. . What’s not to like 😁

This is the finest fish and chip shop in the area! I always get my food from here - the fish is lovely and crispy and the chips are just a chip-shop chips should be. If you love traditional fish and chips I thoroughly recommend visiting Mr Chips!
